Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 5 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 2 carrots julienned
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
Garnish
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat avocado oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook for 5-6 minutes until browned and no longer pink.
  3. Push beef to one side, add sesame oil to the empty side, and sauté onions for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add cabbage and carrots, tossing to coat with oil and seasonings.
  6. Cook vegetables for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  7. Mix beef back into the vegetables.
  8. Pour in soy sauce and rice vinegar, then sprinkle with white pepper and red pepper flakes.
  9. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce reduces slightly.
  10. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
