  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 brioche buns sliced horizontally

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon and cooking until browned.
  3. Remove beef with a slotted spoon, keeping the drippings in the pan.
  4. Sauté onions and bell peppers in the drippings until softened and caramelized.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  6. Stir in flour until absorbed by the vegetables.
  7. Gradually whisk in beef broth and simmer until thickened.
  8. Return beef to the pan, add soy sauce, paprika, pepper, and salt, and cook until coated.
  9. Top with provolone cheese, cover, and let melt.
  10. Toast buns and serve the mixture on top.
