Preparation
- Boil lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente, drain, and set aside.
- Sauté onion in olive oil in a large skillet, then add garlic and ground beef until browned.
- Stir in salt, pepper, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, crushed tomatoes, and tomato paste; simmer for 20 minutes and stir in parsley.
- Whisk ricotta, egg, 1/4 cup Parmesan, and remaining salt/pepper in a medium bowl.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella; repeat layers twice.
- Top with final noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and remaining Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for 10-15 more minutes until golden and bubbling.
Notes
Let lasagna rest 10-15 minutes after baking for clean slices. Store in airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
