Baking Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
- Whisk in the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is glossy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan before lifting out with the parchment paper and slicing into 12 squares.
Notes
Use overripe bananas with brown spots for maximum sweetness. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
