Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Equipment

  • Large cast-iron skillet
  • Paper towels

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
  2. Season the steak cubes evenly with salt and black pepper on all sides.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over high heat until the oil shimmers.
  4. Place steak cubes in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
  5. Sear for 2-3 minutes until a deep brown crust develops.
  6. Flip the pieces and sear the other side for 2 minutes.
  7. Reduce heat to medium, add minced garlic, and stir until fragrant.
  8. Pour in the balsamic vinegar and honey, whisking gently as it bubbles.
  9. Toss the steak in the sauce for 60 seconds until the liquid reduces into a glossy glaze.
  10. Remove from heat immediately and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Always use a dry steak to achieve a superior caramelized sear. Do not overcrowd the pan; sear in batches if necessary.
